My Vegetable Garden

I love growing plants. I think nurturing plants and seeing them thrive comes very close to parenthood. Till recently I used to grow only ornamental plants. But after visiting a horticulture exhibition here in Hyderabad this January, I decided to start my own Vegetable garden.
Here are some plants that are thriving in my vegetable garden now :)

Palak which goes into my cooking

  Palak  (Spinach)

  Tomatoes yet to yield fruit

Kadipatta(curry leaves)

Vali bhaji (in Konkani) - I suppose its called Malabar Spinach in English

Green Bouquet Basil

Brahmi leaves

How do you plant Kadipatta? Do you just put the stem in the ground and it grows roots?

Mayuresh - I bought it with roots at the nursery - but apparently you can plant the twigs too and try. Here is a link

Mint & fennel are great additions to a vegetable/ herb garden, fresh fennel in particular; tough to find in supermarkets but relatively easy to grow and brings great flavor to a lot of curries
